The city of buffalo doesn't seem to think that the Vault (a music venue opened in mid-July) is a good addition to the city. Whenever a show is going on there, there is always a cop across the street taking down random (useless) stuff. The owners of the Vault have recognized this, and are planning to close on Halloween, 2007. (this means that they've only been open for 3 months.
The Vault is a great place for the Youth of Buffalo. There isn't much else to do in this one-horse town. We have a movie theatre, and a Wal-Mart. It's complete bull that they want to close something down so quickly.
The youth of Buffalo have clearly been forgotten by the City. If you even look under 20 and you're walking around town, expect to be stopped by a cop. They usually give some completely half-assed answer to why they stopped you, such as 'Mailbox vandalism', 'robbery', or 'you looked to be underage'.
Cafe22, a place designed specially for the teens, was closed down due to lack of funding (I guess). The town of Buffalo has no resource for the children anymore. If you're 12 and up, you have nothing to do.
Please recognize this and help us. Think of the children, as it were. Tell the City of Buffalo why the Vault should stay in existance, and why it shouldn't be under such scrutany from this godforsaken City.
Help the teens.

I love music, of all kinds, including the kind the bands at the Vault play. I live in Buffalo and see all the problems with the Vault--dozens of kids milling around downtown Buffalo at all hours. There are groups of kids hanging around the building hoping to catch bands practicing at off hours. Have I seen kids doing drugs in the back parking lot? Yes. Have I seen kids hanging around the Vault late at night after Buffalo curfew hours? Absolutely, all the time. Have I heard of kids being talked to by the Buffalo Police? You bet, and I've talked to a few too, who have admitted to being where they shouldn't be when they shouldn't be. Did they get fined/ticketed/arrested? No way, just a warning and sent home.
Don't blame the people of Buffalo, the police department, the 'godforsaken' city, or the Vault. Blame it on those kids that abuse the privilege of having a great opportunity and blowing it. I appreciate the people I voted for and my police department keeping my town safe, not just for me, but for those kids who continually hang around the Vault.

I do live in Buffalo and have for the past 12 years. I just happen to have found the info on the WinonaMinnesota.com and responded. It automatically came up that way. Why not try a little imagination, buddy? If all you have to keep yourself occupied is one place in Buffalo you need a life. Make it for yourself, and quit trying to make people do it for you.

I've found out more,......
It is not the police, the downtown businesses, the parents--IT'S THE LANDLADY WHO IS CLOSING DOWN THE VAULT. Just thought you should have the correct information so as not to blame the wrong people.

I don't think the Vault should close, I am 40 years old and a resident from Mound, however my Niece has a boyfriend from the band Doshino Sunset, they are not druggies or anything else. its a shame that if we don't like their music than they can not be in the town! Where did you hang out when you were younger? I don't agree about the drinking if there is, but there is always one or two who blow it for everyone! Shame on you Buffalo! If you don't like the kid's hanging out there than maybe the good old people of Buffalo could suggest something somewhere else? hmmmm..
