I am looking for information about Halvor, born Dec 6, 1861 in Trysil Norway died Oct 7, 1942 in Wadena and Kari (Carrie), born July 25, 1864 in Trysil, Norway died Aug 14, 1949 in Wadena, Westby or Vestby.

My Great-grandparents, Halvor and Kari Westby are buried in the Blue Grass cemetary, So are the Skaros, of which my grandmther lillie is a part. My brothers Dean and Dale are park Rapds residents.

About Westby family: I am a Westby through my maternal grandmother's family. Grandmother Amanda Westby Hustad lived on a farm near Echo MN after her marriage to Peter C Hustad. They had 4 daughters: Lois b. 1925, Irene b. 1926, Ramona b. 1928 and Bonnie b. 1931. The Westby family name has not survived in this line, as far as I've learned. I would like to hear about connections if anyone has information! Amanda Westby Hustad died in 1968 in Minneapolis MN and is buried in Echo, MN as is Peter Hustad.

Actually grandfather's middle initial was "A" for Andrew. There are other names used between given name and American surname -- having to do with his paternal lineage. So sometimes middle initials get confusing in the extended family.

I was born a Westby in MN. My Dad Gene Westby and his parents Genavive and Kermit Gene Westby, they lived in Pelican Rapids, MN. My dad is the oldest of 7 kids and mosst of them live up there still. I would like to find out more of my dads side as well as my moms.
